TOKYO, Thursday, MAY 8, 2025 - All three core range products from Kirin Japanese Whisky “Fuji” — Single Grain, Single Blended, and Single Malt — have received GOLD in the Japanese Whisky category at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2025 for the third consecutive year.
Fuji-Gotemba Distillery has been producing both malt and grain whisky at the distillery since its inception in 1973, and has been consistently conducting all the processes from mashing, fermentation, distillation to maturation, and bottling at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Since the launch of the brand, “Fuji,” in 2020, the “Single Grain” has been awarded GOLD for six consecutive years, and the “Single Blended” and “Single Malt” have been awarded GOLD for three consecutive years.
The “ISC” is an annual spirits competition organized by Drinks International, a British publisher specializing in alcoholic beverages. In addition to the whisky category, the competition includes other categories such as brandy, tequila, gin, and vodka. TROPHY, DOUBLE GOLD, GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE awards are selected from each category. The Whisky category is judged by a panel of blenders and distillers from whisky distilleries around the world, and the awards are decided by rigorous blind tasting, which is considered very prestigious.
Kirin Japanese Whisky “Fuji” was launched in 2020 as the new flagship brand of Fuji-Gotemba Distillery. Beginning with the single grain in 2020, followed by the single blended in 2022, and the single malt in 2023, it has gained increasing popularity among our customers, with sales growing approximately eightfold by 2024.
Made exclusively from whiskies crafted at the Fuji-Gotemba Distillery, this Japanese whisky offers a taste that evokes the beauty of Mt. Fuji with every sip.
