The Kirin Group has set “Health & Well-being” as one of the core elements of its CSV Purpose and aims to "Contributing to People's physical and mental health".

Since our founding in 1907, The Kirin Group has refined its technological capabilities, particularly in fermentation and biotechnology, through its brewing business. In the 1980s, The Kirin Group took on the challenge of entering and diversifying into the pharmaceutical business. The pharmaceutical business of Kirin Brewery has since grown further as a result of the merger with the former Kyowa Hakko Kogyo, and has now grown to become a business that represents one segment of our group. Building on this foundation, The Kirin Group applied its fermentation and biotechnology expertise to the health science field in order to address health-related issues in society, establishing the health science business as the next pillar of growth.
Today, by creating “Health & Well-being” value across beverages, health science, and pharmaceuticals, the Kirin Group is working to transform its business portfolio and achieve new avenues of growth.

In response to changes in the social environment, awareness of “Health & Well-being” among customers and society as a whole continues to grow. At the same time, health problems are becoming more diverse, reflecting individual characteristics and different life stages.
Through the provision of products and services that leverage its long-established, broad-based customer touchpoints and science-driven technological strengths across the beverage and health science and pharmaceutical domains, the Kirin Group aims to "Contributing to People's physical and mental health".

The Kirin Group organizes the key themes necessary for its sustainable existence and growth together with society into its Management Issues for Sustainable Growth (Group Materiality Matrix: GMM).
As a company engaged in alcoholic beverages, beverages, health science, and pharmaceuticals, ensuring safety and quality is our highest responsibility. In the food and beverage domain, this is grounded in "Ensuring food safety and security", while in the pharmaceutical domain, it is based on "Ensuring quality assurance and a supply of medicines."

The beverage business contributes broadly to the formation of “basic health” that supports daily life. The health science business addresses science-based individual health issues while also building the Natural Health as a Foundation. The pharmaceutical business addresses challenges in treatment by delivering life-changing medicines in specific therapeutic areas.

Last but not least, in order to realize the above, the health issues of our group's employees are also important.
