Kirin Holdings Earns Highest Rating For Eight Consecutive Years in the CDP’s Supplier Engagement Assessment

TOKYO, June 30, 2026 - Kirin Holdings Company, Limited (Kirin Holdings) has been selected as a Supplier Engagement Leader, the highest rating in the Supplier Engagement Assessment category, by the international environmental non-profit organisation CDP*1, for the eighth consecutive year. Furthermore, in FY2025, Kirin Holdings was also awarded the highest rating of 'A-List' in 'Water Security'', making it an award winner in two categories.
The CDP 'Supplier Engagement Assessment' evaluates a company's commitment to climate change based on its responses in four areas: governance, targets, Scope 3 emissions and value chain engagement CDP surveyed companies that responded to the CDP Climate Change Questionnaire (full version), Companies with particularly outstanding initiatives are selected as Supplier Engagement Leaders.
*1 CDP is a non-profit organization that, at the request of global institutional investors and major purchasing companies with a high level of interest in environmental issues, requests companies and local governments to disclose information on initiatives related to climate change mitigation, water resource protection, forest conservation, and other environmental issues, and promotes such initiatives through information disclosure. In 2025, approximately 23,100 organizations worldwide—including more than 22,100 companies accounting for two-thirds of global market capitalization, and more than 1,000 cities, states, and regions—disclosed environmental information through CDP.
The Kirin Group has set a high target in the Kirin Group Environmental Vision 2050, formulated in February 2020, of achieving net zero*2 GHG*3 emissions throughout the entire value chain by 2050. In November 2020, Kirin Holdings joined RE100*4, and in 2022, Kirin Holdings became the first food company in the world to obtain SBT Net Zero*5 certification. In April 2024, Kirin Holdings launched the Kirin Supply Chain Environmental Program*6 to reduce GHG Scope 3 emissions, and will promote initiatives in collaboration with participating suppliers. In March 2026, Kirin reacquired SBT Net-Zero certification, including the newly established FLAG targets, accelerating the execution of its Scope 3 transition plan*7. The Group will continue its efforts to reduce emissions from agricultural raw materials within the supply chain.
In addition, the Kirin Group is promoting the sustainable use of natural capital*8, which is most significantly impacted by climate change, while also implementing initiatives targeting upstream supply chain activities. The Group was among the first globally to pilot and disclose the LEAP approach*9 advocated by the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD*10), enabling the identification of dependencies and impacts on natural capital. In November 2025, Kirin Holdings conducted joint research with the Morikawa Laboratory, Department of International Cooperation Studies, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo, to assess environmental impacts toward achieving Nature Positive outcomes*11. This research confirmed the presence of endangered and endemic species*12, biodiversity conditions, and the role of riparian areas.
